Elevated Green Beans

This very simple quick and easy side dish is very popular in my family.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings 4 people


  • 2 cans green beans or cut fresh beans – cooked
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 stick butter


  • In saucepan or microwave add butter and almondsto melt.  Cook, stirring often, untilalmonds are scalded.  NOTE: the almondscontinue to cook for a few minutes after you stop cooking them so remove fromheat before they are burned.  The secretto this recipe is the scalded, but not burned, flavor of the almonds.
  •   Add almond mixture to drained or cooked greenbeans.
  •  Heat green beans through on stove top ormicrowave.


Serve: Warm
Garnish: Sliced almonds
