Elevated Green Beans
This very simple quick and easy side dish is very popular in my family.
- 2 cans green beans or cut fresh beans – cooked
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- 1 stick butter
In saucepan or microwave add butter and almondsto melt. Cook, stirring often, untilalmonds are scalded. NOTE: the almondscontinue to cook for a few minutes after you stop cooking them so remove fromheat before they are burned. The secretto this recipe is the scalded, but not burned, flavor of the almonds.
Add almond mixture to drained or cooked greenbeans.
Heat green beans through on stove top ormicrowave.
Serve: Warm
Garnish: Sliced almonds
